- April 18—Saturday, 7-10 PM—Met at Fleischer Museum in Scottsdale to hear the Balalaika Orchestra of Tucson
- May 23—Saturday, 7-10 PM—Last general meeting for school year. Homemade borsht served with wooden Russian spoons and fresh bread. Russian television programs watched from video and discussed.

- October 3—Saturday, 7-10 PM—The Mineral Water Region of Russia by Tanya Vakhlakova, History of matrioshki (stacked dolls) by Andy Conovaloff, see photos taken of dolls. Russian movie cancelled due to copyright risks. Popcorn, soda, chai, cookies, and cake provided.

- November 7 to April 15, 1999—Peterhof exhibit, Las Vegas for 6 months. Maybe Carpool. See information page.
- November 14—Saturday, leave GCC at 4 PM—Carpool to Flagstaff for NAU Russian Club dinner.
- November 30—Monday, 7 PM—Glendale Public Library event: Rick Furmanek, author of Stranded in Moscow, is the "Meet the Author" speaker. Book signing and discussion afterward. (7 attended)

- December 5—Saturday, 7-10 PM—Guest Speaker: Dr. Batalden, ASU History Department, spoke about the ASU Russian and East European Studies Consortium, REESC. He says there is lots of financial help for studying critical languages. ALSO: Masha showed slides of Moscow and gave us a tour of the Kremlin. Signups for Christmas Party started. See photos
