Rusyny Folk Ensemble needs practice place, Tucson

Help keep Slavic culture alive in Tucson! Due to schedule conflicts,
Rusyny Folk Ensemble is losing its practice location. city neighborhood
and recreational centers have cut their hours and are not available.
Rusyny is a semi-professional, non-profit, Slavic Folk dance troupe
that has been performing in the Tucson area for the last eight years.
Our troupe is non-denominational and welcomes all ethnicities with an
interest to learn about Slavic culture. Because of the nature of the
activity, one must be in good physical shape. We volunteer our services
for many fundraising events for local schools, churches, ethnic
organizations, children's funds, retirement homes, Tucson cultural
festivals, etc. If you know of a location that could possibly host us
for practices, please contact me ASAP. We practice every Sunday and
one week day evening weekly, for approximately 1-2 hours.  We prefer
a central Tucson location with a ceiling height of 10 feet minimum,
if possible, so that we can swing our axes and jump. We are open to
suggestions including mutual relationships with schools, businesses,
clubs, or other organizations.  It is possible we could be a tax
write-off as we have non-profit status.  Rusyny member costs have
been minimal if our practice site is donated or low-cost.

1. Pray for Jews camputured in Mumbai, India

Rabbi Dan Hayman asks people of all faiths to "
pray together"
for "a tremendous outcome".
"Grim reports as to the fate of the
Rabbis and other Jews that are being held are surfacing but
a spokesman at Chabad.org is saying that nothing is confirmed
and that we are still hoping for good news." UPDATE: There are
reports of Tzitis being seen waved in one of the windows of
the Chabad House, the significance of this are not clear,
we will update as soon as we get more information. The
condition of the Rabbis is still unknown. Please continue
saying prayers for Gavriel Noach son of  Freida Bluma, and
his wife Rivka daughter of Yehudis.

I called around and found out about a new Russian-speaking dentist in
Mesa
, just north of the 60 freeway west of Country Club Drive. I called
about noon and they scheduled me within 2 hours. He put in a temporary
filling for very little cash. I was so happy that I want eveyone to know
about him. Then I found out he is a sponsor of this Russian Arizona website
and has a coupon which you can download. If you want more of my recommendation,

3. RABBI DAN HAYMAN -- New website, Charity needed at Escrip.com

1. Mrs. Hayman made an Internet site <www.shalomphoenix.org>
in Russian with news, links and many functions.

2. Message from Rabbi Hayman,
   Director of chabad Russian programs:

Dear friend,
About a year ago the chabad Russian programs became
a part of charity groups registered with www.escrip.com, an
organization that helps non profit organizations.

Escrip.com has a brilliant idea: if anyone is shopping at
participating merchants such as Macy's, Safeway, Pep Boys,
Office Max, etc. , 2-4% of the purchase automaticly goes to a
desired charity group. So that means that you can support us by
just shopping at those places and all you have to do is to register
your credit card (or retailer card) number that you use to do the
shopping. As I said I had this program for a year but because I
did not advertise it enough only few people know about it and the
total donation amount that my Russian program gets is only $18 a
month. So I hope that you can also help me.

All it takes 6 simple steps.
1) go to www.escrip.com
2) click on "sign now"
3) search for our charity group: "Chabad Russian Programs"
4) click on it when the name appears
5) register your name and card numbers
6) shop at participating merchants using your registered card(s)
Thank you for your support. Please let other people know about this
as well and let me know what you think.
Rabbi Dan Hayman, 602-577-6131
