After many centuries, Doukhobors have received the means
to
return to their indigenous homeland.

сектантов, не признающих ни мирскую, ни
церковную власть, пал гнев и царя и патриарха. Их сослали в
Грузию.
Почему же — спустя столетия — потомки духоборов решили
оставить обжитые
места и отправиться на историческую родину? |
In the middle of the 19th
Century, the sect [dissidents] did not
recognize the local and church authorities, neighter the
tsar nor
the
patriarch. They were exiled to Georgia. Then why did the
ancestors of
the Doukhobors decide to leave their homes and return to
their

обходит комнаты, но все еще не может поверить, что она уже в
России в
собственном доме. Почти 200 лет назад ее предки жили в
Тамбовской
области. Но, вступив в общину духоборов, были вынуждены
переехать на
Кавказ. |
Tatiana Chuchmaeva walks
around
her room, but could not yet believe that she is already in
Russia in
her own home. It was nearly 200 years since her
ancestors
lived in the Tambov oblast. But to maintain their Doukhobor
community
they were forced to move to the Caucasus. |

они мечтали давно. Но разом бросить
все и ехать в незнакомое место решились лишь, когда в
Тамбове
заработала федеральная программа по переселению
соотечественников. |
The return to the historical
Motherland has been a dream for many
years. It came to a reality suddently when a federal
relocation program
for Russian countrymen and women was worked out for the
Tambov region. |
| Село Снежеток в Тамбовской
области духоборы выбрали сами. Говорят,
здесь красиво. На месте когда-то заброшенного пустыря в
кратчайшие
сроки для общины возвели целый поселок из 19 домов. |
It was the Doukhobors who
chose
the Village
of
Snezhetok in Tambov
oblast. It is said to be beautiful here. In place of the
once
dilapitated empty houses, at the earliest posible date 19
houses
were
constructed. |
| Пока здесь проживают 60
переселенцев из Грузии. Ожидается, что в
ближайшее время сюда переселятся еще 200 человек из общины
духоборов. А
значит, уже к концу этого года количество домов здесь
увеличится в
несколько раз. |
So far only 60 Doukhobor
migrants from Georgia currently reside
here. As well, 200 Doukhobor
migrants are expected
to arrive here
soon. This means that at the end of the year the number
of homes
will
increase many fold. |
| Местные жители к приехавшим
соотечественникам сначала отнеслись с
недоверием. Но поняв, что вера у них все равно общая -
успокоились. |
Local residents looked at the
recent migrants with unbelief. But having
understood that their belief is common, they calmed down. |
| Татьяна Чучмаева вспоминает,
что
еще пару месяцев назад у нее было
много скота, дом, огромный огород. Но это было там — в
Грузии. Потом
ненадолго замолкает и добавляет: "Ничего — обживемся. Мы же
теперь
дома, а значит, все будет хорошо!" |
Tatiana Chuchmaeva recalls
that
only two months earlier she had many
cattle, a home, and a large garden. But that was there — in
Georgia.
Then she added: 'Never mind. We will feel at home soon. We
are now at
home, which means that all will be fine.'
