Artist at the Superstition Mountain Lost Dutchman Museum for the month
of May. The museum will be hosting a reception on Saturday, May 5, 2007
from 2 p.m to 4 p.m. Elena Eros will be displaying her works throughout the month of May at Superstition Mountain Lost Dutchman Museum. Elena was born in Moscow and studied under renowned Russian artists. She continued her art education at the Hungarian University of Applied Art in Budapest. She was a fashion designer for several companies in Europe, worked as a fashion illustrator, was a portrait artist in residence at the Hungarian Society for Medical Science and painted backgrounds for animated cartoons at the Panonnia Film Studios. Elena lived and worked in Great Britain, where her paintings are in private collections. She moved to the USA three years ago and won a drawing competition for the American Artist magazine. Elena's Fine Art Education belongs to the Russian-European Academic School of Art. She is a member of International Guild of Realism and Oil Painters of America. She paints figurative subjects, landscapes, animals, murals and takes commissions on portraits and various given subjects. Biography
Jelena was born in Moscow Russia into a family of very gifted parents. Her father Boris Egorov is a retired aircraft engineer who was also her first art teacher, her mother Evgenia Egorova is a talented photographer. Elena’s first professional art instructor was a realist painter A. Motovilov. In 1970 she won a coveted place at the Faculty of Applied Art, Moscow Textile University. She studied under renowned artists Dubinchik, Trofimov and Christyakov. In 1973 Elena was awarded an ‘Outstanding Student Scholarship’, enabling her to continue her education at the Hungarian University of Applied Art in Budapest. In 1980 she graduated with excellent results. Jelena was a fashion designer for several companies, won two separate first place awards at the Budapest International Trade Fair. While working at the Hungarian Fashion Institute as a Fashion Designer & Illustrator, she came second at the prestigious HUNOR leather-wear competition for her men’s-wear designs, held in Budapest. After this Jelena decided to dedicate herself entirely to her art, becoming portraitist in residence at the Hungarian Society for Medical Science and painting backgrounds for cartoons at the Pannonia Film Studios. Jelena has been working as a freelance artist in Great Britain since 1996. Her works are in private collections in Russia, Hungary, England and the USA. She won a drawing competition for the American Artist magazine where a portrait study of her father was published in the winter 2005 issue. Jelena is faithful to the nature of her subjects in accordance with her classical education, at the same time her experience in applied art is allowing her to interpret & stylize. Her Fine Art education (1970-1980) belongs to the Russian-European Academic School of Art. Jelena is a member of Arizona Pastel Artists Association, Arizona Artists Guild, The Mesa Art League, Scottsdale Artists League, Arizona Art Alliance and the International Guild of Realism.
