Artiom Popov was a Russian-Molokan who moved to Israel, where
he may have joined Subbotniks. He was born in the Northern Causcasus
north of Vladikavkas, had 9 children, and perhaps all moved to Israel
were he died in 1955. His wife Ustinia (Lisitsin) moved to the US, where she
died in 1963. Their daughter Anna worked in Isreal,
then returned to Russia (Ukraine), married Dudin (a Molokan surname),
and converted to Evangelical
Christian. She died in 1998. If anyone can add to this story, please do. |

14, 2005 Anna Artemovna POPOV, [born] February 1, 1919, in the Cossack village of Pavlodol'skaya, Mozdok [, North Ossetia-Alania]; and [died] August 25, 1998, in the city of Yalta, Crimea [, South Ukraine]. At first she was a Christian- Molokan, then an Evangelical Christian, christened in the faith. In childhood she lived in Israel. She was a factory manager, then she emigrated to Soviet Russia. She married Aleksandr Nikolaievich DUDIN, who was born on May 5, 1918, and died in 1980. She was an excellent loving wife, mother and family person, highly respected (with a capital letter). She bore and raised three children. She worked hard (with sweat in her face). I am happy and grateful to The Lord our God Jesus Christ that I had such a loving and thoughtful Mommy. The parents of Anna Artemovna were [father] Artiom Kondratevich POPOV, also born in the Cossack village Pavlodol'skaia, in Mozdok [, North Ossetia-Alania]. He died in 1955, in Jerusalem, Israel. [Mother:] Ustinia Nikitchna LISITSIN a native of the Cossack village Pavlodol'skaya, Mozdok, died in 1963 in America USA. Both were Christian- Molokans. Artiom Kondrat'evich was a singer in the church choir. Ustinya Nikitichna was a housewife, and bore and raised 9 children — 5 daughters and 4 sons. — Submitted by Helen Aleksandrovna DUDIN [Anna's daugher], born October 14, 1961. |

The brackets [] hold name and birth data for the genealogy database. Also, 70 Molokan families converted to Judaism in Saratov, Russia, before 1925. Most fled illegally to Israel (then Palestine). Some came to America. Read this history in the transcript of the 1946 interview with Mrs. Clara Adamovna Neiman. |
